Left-truncated health insurance claims data: theoretical review and empirical application

At the beginning of 2004, we draw a sample size 0.25 million people from inventory health insurer AOK. We followed their claims until 2013. Our aim is effect stroke on dementia onset probability, for Germans born in first half 20$^{th}$ century. People deceased before 2004 are randomly left-truncated. Filtrations, modelling missing data, enable to circumvent unknown number truncated persons by using conditional instead full likelihood. Dementia after 2013 conditionally fixed right-censoring event. For each observed history, Jacod's formula yields likelihood contribution. Asymptotic normality estimated intensities derived, relative definition that includes people. Yet, standard error observable. The data reveal stroke, with time measured years, intensity increases 0.02 0.07. Using independence two intensities, 95\%-confidence interval difference [0.050,0.056]. halves, when extend analysis an age-inhomogeneous model, but does not change further additionally adjust multi-morbidity.
